Each year as holidays roll around I try to figure out ways to make them more Christ centered. I love celebrating spring and all of the new and fresh things that come with the change of seasons. But I also don’t want the meaning of the Lenten season and Easter holiday to get lost in that. So last year I brainstormed gifts we could put in the girls Easter baskets that would be tied to some of my favorite Bible verses.
At our house, the Easter bunny leaves eggs to hunt and a few things in the basket, but the girls know that most of the little gifts are from Mom and Dad. We have a few traditions like new sandals for Spring and Summer, always a book (or two), and we can’t help ourselves but to include a little stuffed lovey, even though they have way too many.
Then we pick one or two things that we can tie to a Bible verse and include those as well. This year I’ve partnered with Fernandina Paper Company to make your Easter Basket prep and coordinating verse print outs, easy peasy!
