One of the topics I most often receive questions about is size-inclusive swimwear. I know how tricky it can be to find a swimsuit that makes you feel comfortable and confident. It can be overwhelming and downright discouraging at times. However, I promise you there are so many great size-inclusive options available this year. And I’m not just saying that…I know it for a fact because many of them are styles that I own and love! Today I’m going to share a round-up of current, favorite size-inclusive swimsuits and cover-ups. I’m also going to share a few tips that I’ve learned through my continuous swimwear search. For additional inspiration, be sure to also check out my plus-size swimwear favorites from this spring.
Tips for Finding Size-Inclusive Swimwear
Let’s kick it off with some size-inclusive swimwear tips. Honestly, these are great tips for women of all shapes and sizes to find comfortable swimwear. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again (and again and again), “All bodies are bathing suit bodies!”
- If you find a swimsuit style that you feel comfortable and confident in, don’t be scared to buy it in multiple colors and prints. I have done this many times and I’m always so thankful for it!
- Always pack a long-sleeve UPF swim shirt in your bag. I do this for a few different reasons. First, sun protection is the number one concern for me. So while I have tons of one-pieces without sleeves, I’m always sure to have a long-sleeve swim shirt to throw on when I’m in full sun. Second, personally, I’ve found that swim shirts and long sleeve swim options are actually cooler and more comfortable in the heat. So, I lean towards them on extra hot days.
- Did you know you can wear a bra underneath long sleeve swimsuits that don’t have built-in support? There are brands that have official “aqua lingerie” that I hope to try at some point, but I have regular bras that I reserve just for swimming. If you’re not as busty, you may be able to find a bikini top you could use under the suits instead. But if you’re fuller up top as I am, then you know finding a bikini top that works is a process in and of itself!
- When purchasing size-inclusive swimwear online, I recommend making piece with the strategy of buying multiple sizes, colors, and styles (when possible) and returning the ones that don’t work. I always find it’s best to have lots of options to try on. This gives me a better chance of finding one that I love rather than ending up without any suit at all.
Size-Inclusive Swimwear Favorites
Okay, now that we’ve covered some size-inclusive swimwear tips, it’s time for the fun part! I’m going to share my current favorite plus-size swimsuits and coverups, starting with five styles that I own and love. Many of these are suits that I own in multiple colorways and that I have worn for many years. If you’re looking for the best size-inclusive swimwear, these are currently my top five recommendations due to the fact that I can honestly speak to their exceptional quality and fit.
Size-Inclusive Swim Dress
This Lands’ End size-inclusive swim dress is extremely comfortable. Plus, the wrap skirt is super flattering. It’s currently available in black or strawberry red and sizes 2-26W. I’ve been wearing Lands’ End swim since I was a little girl and it continues to be a go-to for me!
For this look, I paired it with this adorable $20 sunhat and these $15 classic sunglasses, both from Target.

Colorful Size-Inclusive Swimwear
Who doesn’t love a pop of color while at the beach!? This ruched one-shoulder swimsuit is an example of one that I own in multiple colorways. You’ll actually see it again down below! The ruching is flattering on all body types and I appreciate the full-coverage bottom. It is also available in some really pretty prints, not just solids! I paired it with this fun rainbow stripe sarong and colorful sunhat. I find it runs a little big and while I am wearing my normal size, I think I could’ve sized down.

Favorite Size-Inclusive Rash Guard
This size-inclusive long-sleeve rash guard is another piece that I own in multiple colors. As I previously mentioned, I always include a long-sleeve UPF option in my beach bag. This one is not only a simple and classic option, but you can’t beat the price point! (Throw it on over a tennis dress with you’re on the court as well!) I paired it with my extra-large tote bag and Turkish cotton beach towel, which are also both very affordable.

Gorgeous Scallop Sarong
Here it is again, that one-shoulder ruched swimsuit I mentioned a few paragraphs back. For this look, I paired it with this floral scalloped sarong, which is even more stunning in person! I love a good sarong and the fact that they’re easily adjustable. My sunglasses are from Amazon and are only $14!

Women’s Striped Rash Guard
The exact striped rash guard I’m wearing in the photo is sold out, but I’ve linked this year’s very similar version. The navy and white stripes give it such a classic vibe! I’m wearing the $14 sunglasses from Amazon again and my exact hat is old, but it’s similar to this $20 sunhat from Target.

Bonus: Mommy and Me Size-Inclusive Swimwear
Another question that I often receive is where to shop for mommy and me size-inclusive swimwear. So, I wanted to add a section in this post with some of my current favorites. Once again, my favorite ruched one-shoulder swimsuit makes an appearance – this time in a beautiful blue floral print! I love that the matching suit for girls is long-sleeved, keeping their precious skin protected. My girls and I also own and love these hot pink one-piece swimsuits from the Show Me Your Mumu collaboration with my friend, Sabrina Chazen. The scrunch material is extremely flattering and the color is so fun! And the navy and white striped matching swimsuits are such classics at an excellent price point. Another great mommy and me option (not shown above) are these adorable matching cover-ups!
