Fresh off our stay at The Lodge and Club, Curtis and I agree we would teleport back right now if we could! Located between St. Augustine and Jacksonville on the East Coast of Florida, the resort is just a four hour drive for us. We live on the Gulf side of Florida, and honestly, visiting on the Atlantic side feels like a word of difference!
A Sentimental Destination for Me
I was delighted when the resort reached out about hosting us for a stay, as Ponte Vedra Beach is an especially sentimental place for me. My extended family and grandparents lived in a house perched on the Atlantic side of A1A, so I grew up visiting this area. Eventually, my family joined what is now the sister resort to The Lodge and Club (the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club), and it became their hub for endless days spent by the ocean. My mom even learned how to swim at the club’s pool!
My grandparents loved sharing this place with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We miss them so very much, but we’re endlessly grateful for their love and our memories. It was especially meaningful to be able to spend some time away here with Curtis.

Why We Love The Lodge & Club
It is an absolute privilege to be able to share with y’all a spot that means a great deal to our family. I have no doubt that after sharing our experience at this charming resort you’ll fall in love with it too!
Beautiful & Intimate Lodging
The Lodge and Club is quintessential coastal elegance. Its distinctive Mediterranean-style architecture and Old World grandeur immediately transports you into vacation mode. Every room is beautifully decorated, and they all have breathtaking views of the Atlantic. Many rooms even have their own fireplace, which makes the room extra cozy! Intimate in size, the resort has just 66 rooms, which made it easy for Curtis and I to pop downstairs for walks on the beach or dips in the heated pool and jacuzzi.

Relax Poolside or Beachside
One of my favorite things about the resort is that there are two pools: an adult pool and a family pool. If the girls had been with us, we would have enjoyed the family pool. The girls would have gone crazy for the water slides and playful water features! But since we were enjoying time for just the two of us, Curtis and I primarily stayed at the adult pool. The resort has excellent customer service, and the staff were always willing and ready to accommodate any requests. For example, if we were enjoying the pool but were ready to lounge on the sand, we would simply request some beach chairs and umbrellas, and they’d be magically set up and waiting for us oceanside—towels and beverages included!

Dining at The Lodge & Club
Whether you prefer refined or casual dining, the Lodge and Club has a variety of options to choose from. Every meal we enjoyed was delicious, and the views were equally incredibly. With over a dozen options to choose from, we made a point to try everything. And I mean it when I say that everything was superb, even the room service!
The Oasis
If you prefer casual dining right on the beach, then don’t miss The Oasis. This spot has a bar that faces the ocean, so you can take in the views while grabbing a bite (or a beverage). I highly recommend trying their Chicken Birria Tacos and the Ponte Vedra Painkiller. Curtis loved their Smash Burger and their local beer options as well.
The Sea View Grille
The Sea View Grille is a wonderful option if you prefer refined dining. Known for its regional and contemporary American cuisine, the Sea View Grille has some of the freshest and most delicious seafood options. Curtis is still talking about their Lobster Ravioli and I took a cue from my surroundings and ordered my filet, Oscar. Erick treated us like family and made sure we headed to our room with treats and a nightcap.
The Inn Dining Room
The resort has a shuttle service, and we utilized it one night for dining at The Inn Dining Room. To no one’s surprise, the food and drinks were excellent. The flatbread was especially extraordinary. It was baked perfectly crispy and topped with fresh ricotta and tomatoes. Plus, there was an unexpected mix of basil and mint that added a delightfully bright punch. We also enjoyed some sushi that came with a spicy mayo made with local Datil peppers. It was pretty spicy, but also very good! The Inn is known for its historic ambiance, and I highly recommend taking time to walk the halls to look at the old pictures, articles, and architectural plans of this charming establishment.

The Lodge & Club Spa
Perhaps one of my favorite highlights of the trip was the full-service luxury spa. There is a long list of amenities available, and I guarantee that you will want to stay all day!
During our spa day, we enjoyed lunch at the Spa Cafe (they had the BEST pimento cheese and tomato soup!) and lounged by the heated hydro pool, which was complete with bar service and four therapy grottos. I can honestly say that my massage with Rebecca was literally perfect, and I came away completely relaxed.

Resort Activities
If you’re looking for more resort activities, outside the traditional beach lounging, the resort offers surfing, croquet, and tennis. However, I do want to note that their tennis facilities are currently under construction, but there are off-site tennis options available for guests! There is also a fabulous golf course with gorgeous views that I’ve played on many times over the years. And if you’re in the mood to shop, there are also a few boutiques and small shops worth browsing. All in all, there are plenty of activities to keep you busy!
Ponte Vedra Beach Lodge & Club
Whether you’re looking for a place to take a family trip, a girls vacay, or a romantic getaway, you’ll love The Lodge & Club. The incredible views, endless activities, and exquisite dining make for an unforgettable vacation, and it’s one that Curtis and I will never forget!
