There were so many wonderful parts about teaching, one of them being decorating my class room each year in anticipation for my new students. Every August I get a little sad not to be doing that, and who knows – maybe one day I’ll be back in the classroom! Heck, we got pretty close with all of the virtual learning happening last spring. And while Margaret is currently back to in-person learning, we know that things will be adapted as needed to respond to the current community health needs of our area.
So whether learning eventually happens back at our kitchen table, or stays in her preciously decorated and safely modified Kindergarten classroom, I’ve got a little extra creative crafty magic happening with our new Chalkola paint pens and board.
I used mine to make a “Happy Back-To-School” board to surprise Margaret but since it is easy-peasy to erase and start something new I have a feeling it’ll be covered in whatever design she dreams up very soon! I wrote a bit about how important art time and other sensory activities are for Margaret on this blog post and this board and marker set is joining her rotation of favorite art supplies.
We’ve got pumpkins on the horizon so I’m sure it’ll be covered in “boo-tiful” Halloween drawings soon! To shop the exact products we were given to try out, you can use my code GRACEH10 for 10% off your order. Here are the chalk markers. Here is the chalk board. To shop more of their supplies, like their water color brush pens, click here. And clean up is super easy! It washes right off with water or Windex and you can start all over and dream up something new, which I think makes it the best part. In the past I had to use permanent paint pens to achieve this look and then would literally repaint the chalkboard in order to use it again! Maybe I was making it too complicated, but it was all I knew! Now I don’t have to worry about that because the Chalkola pens are so easy!
