We are beyond excited for our collaboration with Lisi Lerch! Seeing our ideas take shape has been a dream and to be able to finally wear our pieces is a true pinch me moment. Living in Florida, we’re surrounded by endless inspiration. We looked to everything from the lush flora and fauna, to the classic coastal interiors punctuated with wicker and rattan, and of course, to a very special destination not too far south – The Gasparilla Inn and Club. It was so wonderful to be able to do this with my three friends and fellow Florida girls, Molly Boyd, Sarah Hunt Hinson, and Sarah Tucker.
So without further adieu, I’d love to walk you through our Florida Friends x Lisi Lerch collection!
We knew this collection wouldn’t be complete without a touch of wicker. Our Whidden earrings, named for the mainstay marina in Boca Grand, come in Wicker White, Sand, and Beach Club Blue. They make a statement, but are light enough for all day comfort. I find myself reaching for the Wicker White and Sand equally, and I love the pop of texture that they give an outfit. Whether you’re a Florida native, like the four of us, or an enthusiastic visitor to our sandy beaches, chances are you’ve done some shelling. Our two shells designs are the The Queen Anne and Louise. The Queen Anne features double-drop seashells that are an homage to the style of the 1912 hotel expansion project that resulted in what we now call The Gasparilla Inn. And though the Inn has received facelifts and refreshes over the years, the use of shells proves to be timeless in all matters of design. While the Louise is a stud style, she really knows how to bring an outfit together. When we designed her, we decided the four shells, could represent the four of us friends, and we named her Louise after Louise Francis Dodge. 118 years ago, seeking to revitalize the annual spring festival of her beloved Florida city, Louise turned to the tale of the infamous Jose Gaspar, and his crew of pirates. She dreamed up a Mardi Gras style celebration now known as Gasparilla, that is still celebrated today. The intrigue of this pirate punctuates our local history and legend has it that his treasure still remains to be found in the waters of the Gulf. But we know that the true treasure, worth more than all the gold and pearls in the world, is friendship. To shop Louise, click here. To shop The Queen Anne, click here.
Visit us in Florida and you’ll see Palmetto growing wild. The fanning fronds are graceful but don’t underestimate their heartiness. And in the spring if you look closely, you might see and smell fragrant white flowers that attract bees who produce the sweetest palmetto honey. Whether we’re cutting fronds for a tablescape, or wearing a pair of The Palmetto on our ears, we love this beautiful plant. You can shop these earrings here. The Palmer Pendant is a dainty drop necklace named after a woman with vision for the Suncoast, in the early 1900’s Mrs. Potter Palmer put much of where we call home, on the map, as a must-see tourism destination. She was known for many things including her generous philanthropy, trailblazing leadership, and a penchant for pretty jewelry. To shop this necklace, click here. For this collection, Lisi Lerch brought back their classic Piper hat which we having lovingly dubbed The Sandpiper, after the happy little birds that run around on the shore. Shop the hat here.
