I don’t know what I love more, going on vacation or packing for one? Just kidding of course, obviously the actual trip is the best part, but planning the visit AND the outfits does wonders for my mood! Here’s what I wore (and Curtis too) on our recent overnight to the JW Marriott Bonnet Creek. I’ll link anything that is current, as well as link similar options for pieces I packed that are old and no longer in stock.
EPCOT: This dress is perfect for the parks especially paired with bike shorts underneath for modesty while getting on and off rides, especially when I am in “mom mode”. As an added bonus, they prevent chafing, but on days like today when I was in the park without the girls and wasn’t as worried about them accidentally lifting up my skirt, I just use MegaBabe Thigh Rescue for anti-friction protection. The dress comes in other colors, has pockets, and available in sizes XXS – XXXL. My tennis shoes might not be pictured but they deserve a shoutout! They are easy to clean, Disney walking approved, and just $30. My sunglasses are on sale for nearly a third of their original prices, and I even found my ears for a deal on eBay (new, with tags!) Pop on your favorite pair of earrings like these gold bamboo hoops, and you’re ready to go!
Dress (XXXL, $128) Earrings ($20) Sunglasses ($59) Ears ($20) Shoes ($30)
Curtis’s Mickey Hat is out of stock online, but is always available in the parks. Check here for restocks. His swim trunks are old, but here are similar. ($90)
TRADER SAM’S GROG GROTTO: I love the colors on this old Sail To Sable dress and while this one isn’t exactly the same, it reminds me of it and the tropical print would be perfect for a getaway wardrobe! I paired it with some new Loren Hope earrings my friends surprised me with for Christmas and was ready for our Mai Tais!
Dress (Similar, $228) Earrings ($198) Headband (Similar, $75)
POOLSIDE DAY 1: This was my first time wearing my new coverup that I bought at the Lilly Pulitzer Disney Springs location. I put it over one of my favorite Summersalt swimsuits, which is at a year + of frequent wearing and it has held up super well. I wore my Shop Sissy Light hat that I’d gotten out in Roundtop this fall which fits so nicely on my extra large noggin!
Coverup (L/XL $198) Swimsuit (TTS, $95) Sunglasses ($58) Hat ($245)
BREAKFAST: This dress deserves more than just breakfast, but honestly when you manage to getaway for a night, even a simple, uninterrupted hotel brunch calls for a fabulous frock. The material is embroidered and lined, so if you have bigger arms like I do, you may find the dress is a little tight. However it wasn’t to the point where I felt uncomfortable in any way. Also, I am 5′ 9″ and the length is flirty without feeling too short. I had actually planned to put it on with my tennis shoes and some bike shorts underneath, and wear it into Animal Kingdom. Curtis is in his Southern Tide performance collegiate shirt – still celebrating Pitt’s win over the break – but the sad news is that they no longer carry his school on their site. However, there are lots of other teams if you’re shopping for your favorite sports fan.
Dress (XXL, $228) Men’s Performance Polo Shirt (Collegiate Collection, $89)
POOLSIDE DAY 2: I love these long sleeve one piece suits for days like this one where I am out in the sun for longer stretches. You don’t have to by any means, but I wear a bra underneath, just to give my bust a little shape and support. I wore a coordinating sarong around my waist and my same sunglasses and hat.
Swimsuit (XL, $138) Sarong ($20) Hat ($245) Sunglasses ($58)
DINNER: I’ve had this Sheridan French maxi dress for two years and to me it just screams vacation mode! Even though we were heading home, I wanted to finish strong with a flowy and fun dress. Since it is old, I am going to link a current option in this style.
