I’ve been shopping at Talbots as long as I can remember. I still think about my favorite hunter green cable knit sweater from Talbots Kids and since that sweater there have been special Talbots dresses, suits, cute tops, even beach cover ups! Year after year I’m drawn to their classic style and size-inclusive options and I couldn’t’ be more thrilled to partner with them for their 3rd annual Art of the Scarf campaign. Talbots will donate 10% of their net proceeds from each scarf sold until October 31, 2020 in support of the Susan G. Komen Breast Care Helpline. The helpline is staffed by a team of specialists and oncology social workers who provide education, psychosocial support and information about local community resources.
You can shop with a purpose when you purchase these limited-edition silk scarves by internationally renowned female artists. I chose the Ali Mac scarf with rich hues, beautiful flowers and women of all backgrounds that work together to, “illustrate the beauty of women helping women” as noted by the artist.
My two favorite ways to style a scarf are the necklace style draping you see here and as a headband. I love how versatile scarves can be, elevating even a casual look like with my friend Sarah Tucker’s classic striped t-shirt and jeans!
The headband trick is easy to do and will liven up a Zoom meeting look in a few simple steps.
- Fold your scarf in half creating a triangle. I make sure I either remove any tags or position them on the corners that make-up the top of your triangle.
- Roll the scarf over and over until it is about consistently 2-3 inches wide.
- Tie a knot in the middle.
- Position the knot you just tied at the top of your head and secure the scarf by tying at the underside of your head.
- Once you have the top-knot in place. You can tuck and fluff any part that needs attention and then voila! Your scarf becomes a headband!
Thank you for joining me in supporting Talbots initiative to partner with Susan G. Komen. We’re stronger together as we work to find a cure and support those who need it the most. If you, or someone you love needs additional support, call 1-877-GO-KOMEN or email at helpline@komen.org.
